today's recipe is your brain on boozing. photographs of my test run of this below. this makes a great centerpiece for your special event whether it is halloween, sci-fi, or mad science celebration lol. It turns out fleshy colored and adding gummy worms is totally optional (but makes a nice garnish for each serving). Below this recipes I list out a non-alcoholic version of the recipe as well.
PINK BRAIN SHOOTER
1 brain-shaped gelatin mold
four (4) packages peach flavored Jell-O® mix (3 ounce pkg)
3 cups boiling water (or use apple juice for a firmer jell)
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups peach schnapps (or you can use peach/raspberry grand marnier #2 like I did)
4 drops blue food coloring
2 drops red food coloring
2 teaspoons water
First, lightly oil a brain-shaped gelatin mold with an unflavored spray oil (i use canola).
Stir the peach gelatin mix with boiling water in a bowl to dissolve the gelatin. Allow to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes. In a separate container, mix in the evaporated milk and peach liquor; pour into the prepared mold. Refrigerate until set, 6 hours suggested but I recommend overnight.
(If you want a wormy brain like mine, place gummy worms along the edge of the jello mold when you put it in the fridge to set as seen in this video below)
To plate & decorate, dip the mold in very warm water (don't let the water enter the top of the mold) to loosen -or- you can wrap a warm wet towel around the outside of the mold for a minute-ish. This helps the jello let go of the sides of the mold cleanly. Place a plate on the top of the brain mold and flip over, inverting the mold onto the serving platter as you set it down. Lift off to leave the brain in place on the platter. Next, mix blue and red food coloring in a small bowl with 2 teaspoons of water. Use a small clean paintbrush to paint the coloring into the grooves of the brain. Return the brain to the refrigerator until the food coloring sets. Serve cold.

OPTIONAL Flavor Varieties
If you'd prefer a non-alcoholic brain recipe, substitute the liquor for apple juice. Or you can try out this other tasty green brain recipe that uses cream cheese, lime jello & crushed pineapple.
My version photographed used 3 packs of peach jello + 1 pack of raspberry jello and i added like 4 drops of yellow food coloring to keep it from being toooo fuschia. I also replaced schnapps (cause ew) with raspberry/peach Grand Marnier (not the orange one) this meant my brain was stronger proof as well.
Finally, it is suggested you can make this recipe watermelon flavored by replacing anything peach with watermelon. So you can use watermelon jello/schnapps instead, but you will get a pinker colored brain than the fleshy color you get from peach.

You can get a brain mold for jello online on ebay or at my favorite novelty shop (that also sells all things bacon and/or jello related and gag gifts)
